Guitarist Biography of Cathy Winter
Guitars have been keeping Cathy company since she was 13. She is a vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, teacher, and recording artist with over 30 years of experience as a touring artist and teacher.

Cathy's guitar work draws strength and versatility from her roots in early folk, jazz and blues, lending a vital rhythmic quality to her playing. Her rich background in roots styles enables her to move between rock-solid country, blues, and contemporary sounds.
Cathy toured nationally and internationally for many years, performing at prestigious festivals including Vancouver, the National Women's Music Festival, Falcon Ridge, Winnipeg, Kerrville, Clearwater, and many others.
She released three solo albums for adults on the Flying Fish label, with her 1992 Flying Fish album, "Next Sweet Time" entered for a Grammy nomination. She also released one children's album, "As Strong as Anyone Can Be" on the Gentle Wind label with Betsy Rose. She has been the recipient of funds from Meet the Composer and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Cathy has been a guitar teacher in the Albany NY area for over 25 years as well as a guest teacher at the well known Puget Sound Guitar Workshop in Washington State. She toured for about 25 years, performing at folk venues and festivals throughout the US, Canada and England, including Vancouver, Winnipeg, Falcon Ridge, Kerrville, Clearwater, the National Women's Music Festival and many others.
