Cathy Winter is a vocalist, guitarist, songwriter, teacher, and recording artist with over 30 years of experience as a touring artist and teacher.

Cathy's guitar work draws strength and versatility from her roots in early folk, jazz and blues, lending a vital rhythmic quality to her playing. Her rich background in roots styles enables her to move between
rock-solid country, blues, and contemporary sounds.

Cathy toured nationally and internationally for many years, performing at prestigious festivals including Vancouver, the National Women's Music Festival, Falcon Ridge, Winnipeg, Kerrville, Clearwater, and many others.

She released  three solo albums for adults on the Flying Fish label, with her 1992 Flying Fish album, "Next Sweet Time" entered for a Grammy nomination. She also released one children's album, "As Strong as Anyone Can Be" on the Gentle Wind label with Betsy Rose. She has been the recipient of funds from Meet the Composer and the National Endowment for the Arts.
