is on Pause
Through June 2020
STAY SAFE
PLAY LOTS OF MUSIC
LEARN NEW TUNES!
Third Thursdays of the month
7PM-9:30PM
PROCTOR'S FENIMORE GALLERY
NO COVER CHARGE
Hosts – Cathy Winter & Bob Carreau
We welcome all levels and styles of musicians as well as storytellers and poets - from experienced performers trying out new material or beginners looking for a little stage time in a friendly space: no cover, free garage parking on Broadway, bus stops in front of Proctors.
Sign-up starts at 6:45 pm. Performers do individual sets (up to 10 minutes each) at the mic until about 8:30 pm. Then we break out into a circle and jam, backing each other up, or singing, joining in on harmonies, trying out new tunes or just listening. Great fun! It’s an early night, closing up by 9:30, making it viable for those who have to get up the next day .
Each month we offer a "theme" - a suggestion only, you're encouraged to play anything you want. The theme provides a nudge - suggesting songs you know or might want to learn.Feel free to stretch the idea of the topic in any direction - or ignore it !!
Take Proctor's Robb Alley elevator to the second floor & turn left. State Street in Schenectady.
Open Mic participants are eligible for a free drawing for tickets to Eighth Step shows!
